Steven Duarte’s compact cabin is reminiscent of the Craftsman style popular early in the century. Board-and-batten siding and a wood-shake roof give this house a rustic country feeling. The wide front porch with fieldstone piers and the stone chimney add a distinct Arts-and-Crafts tone. The living-dining room area at the front of the house is brightly illuminated by Palladian window on opposite walls and the half-round in the second-story dormer. A fireplace gives the space a cozy atmosphere, and a ladder alongside leads up to the loft above the living room. The two bedrooms and one full bath are at the rear of the house.
